Product Description
Keoni’s stylized fish hook was inspired by the fluid form of the ocean waves. The Tahitian black pearl symbolizes the heart, and glows within the setting. Part of Keoni's 2011 Makau Pendant Collection, the hook symbolizes fortitude -- simply put, it means "you can."
Genuine Tahitian black pearl is of the highest quality (AAA-grade, with beautiful luster and color, and smooth, silky skin).
- 18 karat yellow gold
- 10mm, AAA-grade, semi-round Tahitian black pearl.
- Also available in white gold, silver, and platinum.
- Measures one and three-eighths inches high, by three-fourths an inch wide (1 3/8"H x 3/4"W).
- Can accomodate chains up to 4mm.
- Suggested chain styles are snake and omega.

I was looking for a unique and beautiful pendant for my unique and beautiful wife on our 20th anniversary. I did a Google Image search and came up with 4 pendants that I thought she might like. Even though I wanted to surprise her, I wanted her to make the choice so showed her the results of my search. She loves the beach, the ocean, the waves, and she's an island girl (Puerto Rico, not Hawaii, but the waves are the waves!) so it didn't take long at all for her to point to the Spirit of a Wave pendant from Kauai Carver as her selection. Keoni and Heather were incredible to deal with, offered a discount for the special ocassion, then offered an upgrade -- adding a little diamond like a star in the sky above the wave -- that I took them up on, and then gave me a refund as it wasn't as expensive as they had anticipated. They even said send it back if you would prefer a larger diamond and they would make the adjustment -- flexible and very accommodating! They also offered a choice of pearls and came up with a STUNNING blue Tahitian pearl as one of the choices, and that's what my wife decided on. Beautiful art, beautiful people, beautiful options to make sure the pendant would be everything my wife desired. Bottom line, Keoni and Heather were AWESOME to deal with, great communication, fair and generous to a fault. The pendant is truly unique and beautiful, and my wife absolutely loves it. It is a work of art. I'm not sure how many 5 star reviews Kauai Carver has, but it's worth noting that they have nothing less than a 5 star review. Well done, Keoni and Heather. Mahalo!

The Spirit of a Wave necklace is stunning! It is everything I could have hoped for as an anniversary present for my wife. In our case, I provided Keoni with the pearl which has personal meaning to my wife and I from our honeymoon in Tahiti many years ago and Keoni transformed it into a work beyond either of our expectations.
The world is full of jewelry. You can add all the diamonds (or pearls) you want but in the end most of it is still just jewelry. But what Keoni makes transcends jewelry; it is art. Every time we look at his creation we are inspired. We see many things and feel many emotions that his Spirit of a Wave work represents. That is true art. Thank you Keoni for your ability to put feelings into art and thank you Heather for a perfect transaction. Neither my wife nor I could be happier.

Excellent craftmanship! Unforgettable and Unique!

We were married in Kauai in 2001 and I purchased a Tahitian Black Pearl Fishhook pendant for my bride. Two years thereafter my wife lost this treasure I had giving her on our wedding day. She was devastated needless to say. I have looked to replace this special gift to her but could not remember the jeweler where I purchased the original. Finally I have found the item after surfing the web today. My wife is going to be very shocked we she again opens her gift that signifies our wedding day in Kauai in 2001. After reading some of the other comments from people who are enjoying Keoni and Heather's beautiful jewelry, I feel like I belong to a group of very fortunate souls who possess a part of their aloha spirit. ... I received my beautiful Spirit of a Wave lever-back earrings today in excellent condition. They're more beautiful than when I first saw them on Kauai! I will wear them with pride and humbleness. They will always remind me of the beautiful island of Kauai.

Honeymoon Gift To Treasure for a Lifetime

Last year, my husband and I were married on Anini Beach on Kauai, at sunset. The morning after our ceremony, we met Keoni and Heather at the Hanalei Farmer's Market as we admired the amazing craftsmanship of their jewelry. My husband bought The Spirit Of The Wave pendant in 18k gold for me because it reminded us of the gentle waves that danced over our feet during our wedding. We chose a glistening and luminous pearl that reminded us of the setting sun sparkling on the ocean. Keoni set the pearl into the pendant as we watched his talented hands create. Every time I wear the piece, it brings my husband and I back to the most important day of our life. We decided to come back for our first anniversary and paid a visit to Keoni and Heather at the market. Wouldn't you know, there was a pair of Spirit of the Wave earrings with Tahitian pearls that were not only a perfect match to each other, but amazingly, an exact match to my pendant. We now own the complete set. When I wear them, I feel like I'm carrying a little piece of paradise close to my heart. Thank you Keoni and Heather.

We just had our first trip to Hawaii and met Keoni and Heather at a festival on Kauai. We purchased The Spirit Of The Wave pendant in 18k gold with an outstanding pearl as a remembrance of our trip. It is stunning. I receive so many compliments on it's beauty. I know I will cherish it forever. Each time I put it on, it reminds me of our wonderful vacation and the spiritual message of the piece. I bought this gorgeous ocean wave black pearl pendant last May for my Hawaiian born daughter for going back to school to get her degree. It's supposed to be her graduation present, but how can I wait? (And how could I not have worn it myself?) It is too beautiful, too original, and I believe, "our" pearl pendant is Keoni's first one of this design. It means so much to me to have bought it personally from Keoni and Heather. I bought the Spirit of a Wave Black Pearl Pendant as a birthday gift for myself in memory of my fathers spirit. He would have given it to me if he were still with us. It is a truly beautiful work of art. Keoni does marvelous work, a true artist. Every time I wear this piece I feel very special and I always receive comments about it. Both the pearl and the gold work are outstanding. I love it.

While in Maui on business, I was very fortunate to learn about the very talented Keoni Durant. I purchased the Spirit of a Wave Tahitian Black Pearl Pendant in 18k gold for my wife as a birthday present. I selected the pendant based on the description provided by the Kauai Carver website. Keoni also spoke with me over the phone and he was extremely helpful. It was shipped directly to my home and as promised by Keoni, it arrived in time for my wife’s birthday. I wish you could have seen the joy on her face when she opened the box and saw her Spirit of a Wave Pendent. The beauty of the gold wave, complimented by the black Tahitian pearl, has received dozens of compliments from her friends and acquaintances. It is one of the most beautiful and unique pieces of jewelry in her collection! Thank you Keoni, you are truly a gifted artist!
