Loading... Please wait...A powerful tool, the Double Barb Makau was the hook of choice for Kauai fishermen. Inspired by an ancient Hawaiian fish hook found in the Bishop Museum archives, the pendant is a symbol of fortitude -- it means "you can."

I picked this up while on vacation in Kauai. Excellent craftsmanship and totally worth the money. Keoni is awesome too, he took the time to explain the meaning behind the pendant. I was completely mesmerized by them as soon as I saw them. I'm very happy with my purchase and glad I wandered into the local Sunday Kealia crafts fair and found him.

Had the pleasure of meeting Keoni when we were on Kauai for Christmas 2010. Bought 2 of the hooks, 1 for myself & 1 for my son.I wear my Kauai style Makau hook with pride & honor each day. We have visited Kauai at least 10 times and this is a great reminder of one of the most beautiful places on earth.

We bought this on our last day on the island. I had been searching for the perfect momento for our anniversary trip. This necklace is perfect. Top quality, amazing craftsmanship. Amazing gift for an amazing trip!

I am 11 and gave this to my 5th grade teacher, for teacher appreciation day. I got him this one because it means "you can" and my teacher pushed us to say you can, you can, you can. So i thought this was the perfect gift for him. I also thought this was perfect because he had went to kauai for his honeymoon and had a great time so if you want to get a gift for someone who kept pushing you that "you can" this fish hook would be perfect for that one person.
